London United Kingdom

London - Hotel
This was our first ever stay in the city of London, it was a dream for both of us to visit this city, so we were extremely excited to say the least. The hotel I picked was within our budget at the time and was located in an area of the city of London we thought would be a good start to explore. The Cesar Hotel was a lovely place in a nice posh neighborhood of Kensington.
London City - Day
As we walked around London for the first time it was not like we imagined. It was just as we have seen in the movies, the architecture, people, shops, and of course food. This collection of pictures is random things we have seen in London and of course our eyes got big with all the history in this city and of course the BIG RED BUSES!
Check out the images and scroll through and enjoy all the city streets of London during the daytime. Yes, it rained a few days while here.

London City - Night
Okay, London at night during the holiday season is Magical. All the streets lit up with colorful lights and the sounds of the city and all the people our shopping days before Christmas was intoxicating and exciting. Since we were alone with no family or friends for the first time at Christmas it felt strange but we had each other and the excitement of exploring a new "world" was right in front of us, so we loved every minute of it.
St. Paul's Cathedral - London
I wish we would have spent more time in here, but it was closed off and we could only see a small portion of it as it was late in the day and they were closing the doors and getting ready for services. This won't be the last time we see thsi place I can tell you that.

The Palace - Daytime
Just like so many movies and TV shows we have seen growing up we were actually standing in frot of Buckingham Palace. WOW!
London Eye - Day & Night
One thing I wanted to do was take a go around the London Eye, the famous 10 story tall wheel on the river Thames. We bought tickets for day and night (2 for 1 deal) so you can see all of London from up here. Fingers crossed, it was a clear sky that day we chose, or we wouldn't see anything.

London - Tower Bridge
What can we say about this iconic Bridge known around the world? We didn't spend much time here because we did a 5-hour tour of the castle and saw the crown jewels, but we could not take pictures so you're not going to see that, for now.

Big Ben & Parliament
Another icon of London and seen in movies, TV and described in thousands of books. Big Ben! I got some good shots at night and with eh river Thames.

Prince Albert Memorial - Hyde Park
On Christmas Day everything was closed so we planned to just walk around the city and see as much as we could as we figured that there wouldn't be a lot of people but there were millions of tourists just like us. We walked through Hyde Park and came across the Albert Memorial right across from the Royal Albert Hall.
My First Professional Beard Trim in London
Something I wanted to do while in London was to get my first professional beard trim from Mudrocks of London. It was nice to get this thing under control and have it cut properly. My barber was nice, and I felt much more in control of my beard going forward. He loved my mustache and kept the length so we can wax it and make it look stylish.

Christmas Dinner in London
So, our first Christmas Dinner together a long way from home had to be special so I found out the Kensington Hotel did a five course Christmas dinner with Champagne for a large fee of course but what better way to kick off our new tradition of celebrating the holiday season in a different country each year and experience all the delicious wonders of the holiday season. This dinner did not disappoint. We got a little carried away with the drinks.
Black Friers Pub London
It was raining like crazy one day and we hopped off the Tube at this stop and came across this pub which is now one of our favorites called the Black Friers pub and it was so unique and full of history dating back over 100 years ago.

Harrod's Department Store & Dining Experience
Since Bill is a big history buff, he wanted to see the inside of Harrod's dining room because the ceiling was built by the same designers of the Titanic, so we went to have lunch there and it was "brilliant" as the Brits say.

Britsh History Museum
Bill wanted to go here really bad and since it was another rainy day we took a few hours to walk around and see some history, I was not a big fan of "old stuff' but Bill introduced me to some history from other parts of the world and I loved it.
