Our Journey Began 35 Years ago.
Travel has always been a shared passion of ours since we first met 35 years ago. Though careers, budgets, and life’s many responsibilities delayed some of our dream adventures, we found ways to explore starting small with local trips across our state and gradually building up to longer journeys across the country. Over the decades, we’ve racked up thousands of road miles and visited countless fun and memorable places. Yet, we always felt the pull to go further to experience the other side of the world.
In 2012, we gifted ourselves a trip to New York City for Christmas, our third visit to NYC in a three year period. There’s something magnetic about big cities: the rhythm of mass transit, the depth of history, the richness of museums and culture and the architecture. New York gave us all of that—but it also sparked a question that changed everything: “What if we go to Europe? Just a 10-day trip to see what it's like?”
That simple idea was the start of something bigger. We applied for our passports and began planning our first journey abroad. Of course, the unknowns felt Daunting lLanguage barriers, unfamiliar customs, and the sheer distance. But conversations with well-traveled friends eased our concerns, reminding us that whether you're going around the block or around the globe, every great trip starts with careful planning.
In this blog, not only will you images of our destinations but I’ll share the formula that helped us go from local adventurers to international travelers over the last decade and how you too can sip Champagne at the price of a pint of Guinness. Pinkies up!
