Munich Germany - Hotel
So this was our very first trip across the world so finding a hotel that was in our budget and close to the city center was a challenge for me since I had no idea of any of these hotel's brands, locations, and prices. I managed to find a good reasonable hotel price and close to the city center, so I booked it. Well, I think I did a good job and when we finally arrived late at night due to a delayed flight we checked in and got to our room and to our amazement it looked like one of the rooms set ups in IKEA. Very minimalist and very cozy with lots of amenities we did not expect in a hotel room, but we realized that Europe is far ahead of the USA in hotel standards and amenities. We had never seen lots of high-tech features before, and everything was controlled by a "touch panel" in the bed's headboard, a small hide-away kitchenet and a modern bathroom that was very swanky. The one thing we had an issue with that we were not used to but is extremely popular in Europe is a queen-size bed but you each get your own comforter so no more pulling it over because Bill took all the covers.
